Home Education at Forest School for Life

Earth kin and team: Wildlife: Children of the earth, deeply connected to nature and their community. Family groups, curricula-led natural history adventures

Home educators are welcome! We’ve partnered with team: Wildlife by talk: Wildlife to offer a curricula-led outdoor learning experience for home-educated children and their families. Together, we’ve created a unique blend of forest school practice and natural history education – rooted in curiosity, scientific understanding, and child-led exploration.

Our sessions combine the freedom and creativity of forest school with the structure of curriculum-linked topics, creating a supportive community for families who want to learn in nature, side by side.

A natural fit for home educators

As you are the home educators, we understand the importance of sharing the learning experiences with your children. For this reason, the activity price covers one parent and one child to enable further learning outside the sessions.

The home educators activities cater for ages 5 to 12 (with alternative options available for 2-5 years olds). When necessary for activities, equipment such as binoculars, magnifying glasses, pond dipping kits and sweep nets are provided.

If you’re looking for something more than worksheets and whiteboards, Forest School For Life offers the chance to experience education as it’s meant to be: active, relevant and alive.

Whether your child is interested in wildlife, wants to build their confidence in a small group, or just loves being outdoors, we provide a welcoming and inclusive setting.

What can you expect from these home education sessions?

Designed and delivered by team: Wildlife, the activities combine talks, walks in the school’s natural surroundings and hands-on activities. Whilst the emphasis is on learning, the activities are fun, informal and delivered in a relaxing environment.

Currently we’re running team wildlife Wednesday afternoons from 1pm

Sessions include a combination of indoor and outdoor learning.

Each session costs £50.00, or just £25.00 for team: Wildlife members (see below for details).
