  • Our Children love their environment, they take ownership of their play spaces and show natural curiosity in all things alive and growing. Day to day they have time and space to play as they choose. During their planned forest school sessions, they are led through a healthy and unique curriculum. They embrace risk, testing their limits through carefully assessed activities alongside skilled leaders. They are in a healthy environment, with plenty of fresh air, fresh foods and practitioners who are great role models and discuss healthy lifestyle choices. Your child will be empowered to learn personal practical skills from a young age. They will be supported to dress themselves, hang up their kit, change their kit according to the weather on the day, to take responsibility for handwashing and knowing how and when to ask for support. They will be in a community environment, where smaller younger children are frequenting also, some older children like helping out with the babies and others choose to be observers! We love this mixed community, and it also promotes families, we have many siblings in the same space which is lots of fun.

  • We don’t like the saying “school Ready”, it was introduced many years ago, to mean, that “School’s were ready for the pupils”. For this reason, we place plenty of emphasis on supporting transitions, inviting schools into meet their next cohorts and working closely with yourselves to ensure everyone is happy. What do school’s hope for? Well, usually they like children to be able to get themselves dressed (for PE), be toilet trained and be able to recognise their name and some letters that are important to them. Our children leave with these skills and often much more as a minimum.

  • We are Child Led, which means we don’t teach phonics, we don’t have structured lessons and we do embrace the learning style of each Baby and Child. We do make observations and share with you as the parent/carer primary role model, and we do ensure that your child has a thorough transition report at the end of the academic year. This is a sensory rich, not overwhelming, natural place to spend time, working with natural resources and learning life skills, like how to behave around an open fire, how to cook over the fire, where does our food come from, what is healthy food and why? How to use tools, such as peelers and knives, drills and an axe. How and when to harvest foods from permaculture. What’s in the nature pond, what lives in the Meadow? And why is any of this important! If you’re still reading this, then you absolutely must come and visit us, even joining us in the pre-school year can have significant health and academic benefits to your child’s life chances, it’s never too late to sign up
